Although people will gain the most from attending for the full day, attendance may be adapted to accommodate prior commitments and student capacity. Jukai

Jukai is the process for studying, committing to and receiving the Sixteen Precepts of the Buddha in Zen Buddhism. It culminates in a Ceremony in which students receive their personal copy of the Sixteen Precepts, along with a certificate of Jukai from the Teacher, a certificate of the blood lineage of the ancestors from Shakyamuni to the student, and a symbolic lay robe called a rakusu.  This Spring, 2020,  Deep Ocean Zendo will have its first Class of Jukai starting February 21.
